The town is a village of ancient foundation (roman epoch with Ancient Ceula), located on the coast at the end of a valley, thickly wooded with olive and pine trees.
The ridges on either side of the valley thrust out into the sea as the headlands of Mesco and Levanto. Much of its territory is part of Cinque Terre National Park.
In Levanto, in addition to the very beautiful historical centre, you will be able to admire its “caruggi”(small ligurian street), the church of Sant’Andrea (gothic art XII century), the Castle, the Medieval Loggia (which received from UNESCO the title of monument being evidence of peace and culture), the wonderful coastal walk of “La Pietra”, and the Monastery of Clarisse where today you find the city hall and the public library.
Finally you will enjoy a relaxing vacation in the large beach and in the clear and clean sea.
